When my wife and I purchased our current home in Virginia seven years ago, we got an 80/10/10 mortgage in order to avoid paying PMI. We are now in the market again to buy a house (while selling our current home). Do lenders still offer 80/10/10 mortgages? by butchhibbing from South Hill, Virginia. Jun 6th 2011
Great question: Yes 80/10/10 loan is still available but only with certain banks not with brokers- I would love to help you out!
Generally no, there are no more of those types of loans. You can do 96.5% FHA loans and there are some states that have other programs such as in CA, we have the 96.5% first and a 3% second. Also there is the VA loans at 100% financing and some USDA lenders as well. Contact your local loan officer and see what your market has for you.
hi there: I am a federally chartered bank and if you have time to call so I may ask some questions regarding your purchase transaction. We can offer that 80/10/10 depending on loan amts etc..My office is in Northern VA here if you'd like to meet and chat. Mike 703 505 5300
Yes, 80/10/10 loans are still available, but as you can see from the responses below not everyone is doing them. We have several combination loan programs - conventional fixed rate and ARM programs. Feel free to call or email me with any questions and for a quote!
Though lenders still offer the 80/10/10, you may want to have a mortgage professional verify whether it would be more benficial for you to pay PMI. Feel free to contact me directly for an analysis.
