Looking for a jumbo loan after a short sale

it's highly unlikely you will find a lender willing to do a Jumbo with a short sale that has not seasoned at least 5 years, but most likely 7. Even conventional guidelines require 4 years after a short sale... There might be a portfolio or hard money lender out there willing to do something, but expect the terms to be terrible.. most likely you would need 35% to 40% down and rates to be in the teens.. Our lowest waiting period after short sale for a jumbo at the company I work: Eagle Home Mortgage, 512-299-0616, here in Austin, Tx, is 4 years. One suggestion would be to look at a smaller loan amount and get an FHA loan. The loan limit in my area is around 330k so you could find something close to jumbo size and put 20% down.
