I am looking to purchase my first home and would like to take advantage of the 8,000 tax credit before it expires. I was put on my deed of my dad s rental home. I am not on the mortgage. Also, I was living in the rental house for a period of time. Do I qualify? by JessicaMartini from Glendale, California. Apr 12th 2010
You would not qualify unless you "Purchase" the home. Being deeded onto the home will not qualify you as a Purchase of that home. If you would like to purchase the home, we can work with you on a mortgage set up to purchas the home and put the mortgage into your name.
