I have been looking into purchasing investment property in a high market value area, Monterey CA. I live in Tennessee. I have been reading articles saying analysts are seeing trends in the market today that mimic the volatility from the last 2 recessions...that basically we are headed for another recession. Seeing as the values in CA are so high, is it wise to watch the market play out for some time before such a big transaction? Thanks! by Ben1963_truckerbo... from Jackson, Tennessee. Aug 24th 2018
Recession? Maybe. Housing bubble burst? I don't agree... and that is simply because we no longer gives loans to anyone who can fog a mirror. That allowed the market to raise unrealistically with no pressure to get things in proper prospective of affordablility. Has the lower end of the market been affected with price increases? Yes. Are people paying too much of their income for housing? Yes...
