Applying for a USDA loan

I am now beginning the process of buying a home. I am leaning towards a USDA since they offer no down payment. I don’t have good credit and I have a few late payments 4 with capital one in 2020 and one from 2021. Since then I have been making payments on time and have paid down my debt. All my cards have zero balance at the moment and I feel that this is a good time to apply and get approved. I live in NC and am excited to own a new home. What are my chances? by thurston768 from Jacksonville, North Carolina. Jun 13th 2022 Reply

My best advice is to simply make application with a local mortgage broker. It doesn't cost anything, doesn't hurt anything, and the lender can then zero in exactly on your personal situation giving you and exact answer as to what programs you qualify, be it a USDA Rural Housing loan, or something different. I lend for USDA loans, along with most other standard mortgage loans in MN WI IA ND and SD. Find my USDA loan information at JoeMetzler.com/usda-loans-mn-wi-sd Cambria Mortgage, NMLS 274132
