Can a person be denied a home loan because of age? My grandfather agreesd to cosign with me. He's 84 years old. I'm 27. Is this a problem?

The federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act states that it is illegal for lenders to discriminate against borrowers because of their age.

In theory, the only people that can be denied a lone based on age, are those that are too young to enter into a legal contract. As long as he is mentally competent, he can be a non-occupant co-borrower.
