My ex wife is wondering if I can help her get a loan through VA. We have been divorced for 1 year and I don't mind. I know children of veterans can't but have a hard time finding out if EX spouse can. Is there a grace period? Officially been divorced ~10.5 months. Thank you by artutro.C.lanza19... from Rochester, Minnesota. Dec 11th 2013
No.. an ex spouse cannot purchase using your VA benefits.. VA is intended for the veteran and you would have to live there to use this benefit.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Acres, Lender411's number ONE lender in Arizona. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com
No, sorry. She'll have to use another loan option. A widow can use the benefit but not your ex.
No, an ex can not take advantage of the VA benefits. Widows are eligible, but not ex-wives.
Sorry, you have to live in the house as your primary residence, and that appears to be problematic, based on the divorce.

Sorry, no... that will not work... If she needs down payment assistance, I am in St Paul. As a Minnesota lender, we offer some pretty neat MHFA (MN Housing Finance Agency) down payment assistance loans. She just needs $1000 of her own money... Or maybe a zero down USDA loan. Call me at (651) 552-3681 or visit www.MNHomesAndLoans.com for more information on other options
