I've already been approved for an FHA loan but I'm not having a good experience with my lender. Can I switch without it affecting my approval? by helger424 from Fulton, South Dakota. Mar 5th 2021
Yes, there is nothing preventing you from changing lenders. I do a lot of FHA financing. I lend in South Dakota, and I am in St Paul, MN. Find me at JoeMetzler.com - (651) 552-3681. Cambria Mortgage, NMLS 274132
Just to be clear. If you change lenders, your original approval is void. However, it is extremely rare for a borrower to be approved, change lenders and then be declined. If you are not having a good experience, go ahead and start the process to select your new lender. Let them know that you were working with X lender, you are not happy with the experience. Your new lender will walk you through the process of getting the appraisal transferred (if you already had one done). It should be pretty painless to make the move.
