Good morning Gloriajean. Are you the veteran or is your husband the veteran?
Sorry just noticed that you said he was the veteran. Please disregard previous response.
Since VA loans are for owner occupied properties only, and only the Veteran WITH the spouse can apply, then the short answer is no.. You on your own cannot use his VA benefits to purchase a home. There is one exception.. if the Veteran is deceased, and you were married at the time, and you have not remarried, then you would be entitled to use his VA benefits.. but this is the only scenario where it would work. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. No, he would have to be the applicant and live in the home.
There are other loan options that exist that you might qualify for if you are looking for a program with no or little down payment. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. Thank you. Justin Murray / JMurray@WintrustMortgage.com / (312)256-4065
You have to be married to the veteran in order to use the VA mortgage loan.
