Can i get home loan on visa status?

I'm looking to get approved for a home loan. My credit is good 650, i make $77,000 in commission as a ups driver for 1 year. but I am on a work visa, waiting for permanent residence. Is this an option as foreigner? by gavollink517 from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. Feb 12th 2019 Reply

Yes and no.. First, because you are commissioned, you need to be receiving commissions for 2 or more years for your income to be considered. Once you pass the 2 year mark, then you can apply. But this is in regards to your income.. For Visa holders, it really depends on the type of visa you have.. The most common is H-1B, H-2A &h-2B. Each one has a maximum amount of years you are eligible to stay in the US.. so an underwriter will want to see that you have at least 2 years remaining in order to approve you. Regardless of these programs, there is also a portfolio loan product,, however, under this loan product, you would need a large down payment.. probably 30% or more..
