If the foreclosure was reported within the seven-year period prior to the credit report date, you will not be eligible for the HomePath program. If not within that 7 year period you should be alright.

HomePath is a conventional loan product and guidelines state you cannot have a foreclosure in the past 7 years.. however, If the foreclosure was 1 to 3 years ago, then you might be able to use FHA to purchase a HomePath home, or any home for that matter.. but you will pay mortgage insurance and will need 3.5% down payment, and you would be subject to the FHA loan limits for your county.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Consider FHA, if the foreclosure shows on your credit report.
