Can I transfer my mortgage to my son

I have a VA loan and I want to know if I can transfer it to my son. He is not in the military. Is it still possible to transfer it to him? He has good credit. by gregahharris796992 from Estero, Florida. Jun 23rd 2014 Reply

One option is to just let him take over the payments, without qualifying. The loan stays in your name, and on your credit that way, so beware.

First off thank you for your service, and yes he can assume the loan he will need to credit qualify and the loan will become his reporting on his credit.... It will tie up your entitlement with VA for the orignal amount of the loan until paid off as well..... if youd like a deeper explation of the situation id be happy to full explain it fully....I am a US Veteran just like yourself and been specializing in VA lending since 1998 call me at 816-412-3568 and we can discuss your situation with no obligation.
