Claiming a refund as we apply for a loan

Can someone who is well-versed with loans confirm something for me? My husband and I file taxes together and we want to buy a new house. We haven’t bought a house in the last ten years. My husband and I are both going to be in the deed, but I’m the only one who’s going to be on the mortgage. Will we still qualify for the full $8000 refund?
