Disabled Veterans Discounts.

Do disabled Veterans get discounts on points or reduction of fees based on disability resulting from their service? I am 25% disabled, does this also effect any discounts? by Korea_VetCapital1425 from Fairfield, California. May 16th 2018 Reply

YES !! VA home loans have a 'funding fee' added to the loan that helps cover defaults. This varies depending on Regular Military, Reserves/National Guard, first VA loan, subsequent VA loan, and down payment (if any). If you have at least a 10% VA related disability, the VA funding fee is waived. Depending on your personal situation, this can be from a modest savings, to a really big savings, all the way from a just 0.50% of your loan amount on a refinance, to 3.30% of your loan amount on a zero down payment subsequent use purchase loan. Hi Korea_VetCapital,Thank you for your service. As has already been stated, VA waives the funding fee when your service connected disability rating is 10% or more. Some states (TX,FL & IL for example) waive property taxes if your rating is 70% or higher for IL & 100% for TX & FL.
