Do disabled veterans get any discount on their mortgages?

if your disability is a result of your service, then you will get a discount or even a full up waiver of the VA funding fee. its based on your percentage of disability, 100% disabled, 100% waiver, 70% disabled, 70% discount on VA funding fee, etc.. Also, some states will offer either a discount or waiver of property taxes. It's also based on your percentage of disability and whether it's military related or not, and if your disability was incurred during war time, etc... If you contact a local mortgage broker, he should be familiar with the local programs regarding exemptions.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. The main discount you get is that as a disable vet you do pay the VA Funding Fee which is basically mortgage insurance. This could save your thousands on your loan depending on your loan amount. Yes... On a VA loan, there is something known as the VA Funding Fee. If you are more than 10% disabled, you do not have to pay this fee, which could save you thousands on your already awesome VA home loan. www.VA-IRRRL-Loan-MN.com

Dependent on the percentage of your disability you can get the VA funding Fee waived which if i it is the subsequent use can be quite a substancial savings.

Depending on their level of disability, the Vet's get a waiver of the funding fee, and they may also get waivers on property taxes depending on their state of residence.

As others have stated the only real discount is the fact that one does not need to pay a funding fee (which ranges from around 2-3%).One of the other benefits of all VA loans is that there is NO required down payment (unless you exceed the county valuation that is seteach year for maximum purchase level. Contact a local, licensed mortgage officer for more details on your specific situation.

The only discount is you don't have to pay the VA funding fee. There are however discounts on property taxes as well but only after you have bought your home. If you have 10% or more disability your VA funding fee is waived. You don't have to pay mortgage insurance. You may qualify to not have to pay property taxes, but you can't apply for this with your state until after closing. The VA loan is one of the best loans available. Best wishes and good luck,Sean

Disabled Veterans are entitled to be exempt from the VA Funding Fee on VA loans.

Yes you do. With proof of VA disability the funding fee is waived. Likewise, some counties waive property taxes for disabled veterans. Check with a local Realtor for help if your local counties will do that.
