Do I need a broker to help with pre-qualifying?

I am in the process of getting pre-qualified for a loan as a first time investor. Do I need a mortgage broker to help me out? What are the advantages of having one? I need someone who can help me understand the guidelines when applying for a loan. I heard that brokers can help one get the best deal possible. by treeves465 from Marbury, Maryland. There are a couple advantages. First, all non-bank Loan Officers must be licensed, whereas most bank Loan officers might be, but usually are not. Next, brokers can offer the products and services of many lenders, while banks usually just offer their own products. There are many reasons you should always work with a Licensed Mortgage Broker. Here are just a couple...A bank loan offer will have access to all the products the bank offers, but ONLY the few products they offer. Most Bank loan officers are order takers. They'll ask a few questions, take an application and them push your application into the Mortgage processing department, whose job it is to try and find a product to get you shoehorned into.A Bank loan officer will never offer you a product from a competitor, even if they know it is a better product or a better fit for your needs.A bank loan officer is rarely educated as rigorously about national and state specific laws, rules and regulations, and they are not licensed by the state. They are simply registered with the NMLS.A Mortgage Loan Originator that works for NEXA Mortgage, LLC, is trained, tested, and licensed. After undergoing over 20 hours of rigorous education, we must pass both a national and state specific test. A thorough FBI Background check is performed and only then will the State issue a license to originate loans in the state.Mortgage Brokers have access to many mortgage lenders. Loan Originators at NEXA Mortgage have access to dozens of loan products from over 160 different Mortgage Lenders. This is why we think your best bet is to work with a licensed Mortgage Broker.Give us a try...
