Not necessarily. If you are having a financial crisis, start with your loan servicer for assistance. Most all lenders and loan programs have some form of relief available. If you strike out with the servicer, Then reach out to your local VA Regional Center. For North Dakota, your Center is in St Paul MN. The nationwide number is 877-827-3702. Follow the prompts to get to your center. The VA administration is constantly looking for ways to help veterans. Not sure what you mean by loan forgiveness, but if you have a current VA loan, the VA has a mandate that lenders must do everything possible to assist you if you get in trouble on your VA loan, with foreclosure being the very last option. I provide VA home loans in MN WI IA SD ND Only. Find me at VAMortgageMn.com - Cambria Mortgage, NMLS 274132
