I would like to refinance to make my mortgage to be more affordable. I can still get by regardless possible for me to get by without doing so. If i try to refinance will it that affect my credit score? by MarryM from Houston, Texas. May 3rd 2010
No, a refinance should not affect your credit. In fact, in the long run if refinancing to more affordable payments helps you pay down some of your other debt (particularly credit cards), it may help your credit. You should go into a refinance with a long term financial plan that considers credit and your financial goals. Linda, www.SmartLoanLady.com
The answer is No.. I have done thousands of loans and I have seen borrowers credit get better but they typically stay the same unless you have a lot of people pull your credit. You want to stay away from that. Normally it stays the same since you are paying off 1 credit and adding a new one. We offer very competitive rates so give me a chance to price it out for you to show you how competitive we are!
