Down payment assistance in Louisiana?

We were interviewed by a real estate builder regarding a housing program that they recently launched for first time home buyers. My wife and I had no idea that we would have to pay $50k for a down payment and closing cost. We don’t have that much saved up and were wondering how we can get help.
