FHA loan for a new home, only has 1 door. Is this acceptable?

Yes FHA does not have issues with 1 door. For example if uou were purchasing a vondo, they typically only have 1 door.

Thats fine for FHA, unless you are purchasing a "2" family home and you need the rental income to qualify.

Patricia, In all my years, guess I've never heard of a home with one door? I guess I would need more information... I am right here in St Paul, so give me a call or stop in, we'll go over everything and figure out your best options. www.StPaul-Mortgage.com (651) 552-3681

Purchasing a home with only one door shouldn't affect you ability to get an FHA loan.

One door is acceptable, since most condo's only have one door.. however building codes usually require 2 egresses within a residence.. my guess is that the property probably has a balcony, or large window that can be used in an emergency.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

Having only one door is not necessarily an FHA issue... it's more of a local building compliance issue. Most building codes require that you have a secondary door for emergency access in case of a fire. Check with your local building authority to verify if it is a legal structure. Good luck.

One door is fine, unless it violates local building codes, which could be noted by the appraisal.
