Hi, This is my first time applying for a loan and I have a few questions. Does a 100% payment history and constantly lowering debt count as something when trying to apply for a mortgage? My credit score is up and I continue to work on lowering my balances and paying off as much as I can. I'm scared to apply because I've been rejected twice already. I plan to buy a new home in a few months. What do I do? by dana746 from Allendale, South Carolina. Apr 13th 2023
Hi. Credit of course is a major item in getting a home loan. A perfect credit history is NOT a requirement. On the other hand, a really bad one is no good. If you've been denied in the past, but you've been working on it and making progress, Don't be afraid. It doesn't cost anything to apply, and it doesn't hurt anything if you do. I provide home loans in MN, WI, IA, ND, and SD. Find me online at FirstTimeHomeBuyer-MN.com | Cambria Mortgage | NMLS 274132
