The short answer is yes.. but your lender must allow for this down payment assistance in conjunction with USDA.. some will, and some wont.. Understand that depending on where in TN you plan on buying, your assistance can come in the form of a 2nd mortgage, or a true grant where no repayment is required.. My suggestion is to contact a local mortgage banker/broker and apply with them... Once they see your complete loan profile and know what part of TN you look to buy in, they can zero in on the right program for you.
