Pretty easy... simply contact a local mortgage broker in your area. Give them a full application (name, address, job, birthdate, ssn, income, etc). Give them supporting documentation to back it up (pay stubs, W2's, bank statements). Give them just a little time to look at it, and if everything is in order, you'll get a pre-approval letter. In MN and WI, I can do that for you at www.Minneapolis-Mortgage.net
Call me any time. I am located in Auburn, ME. Direct number is 207-618-9153.
Any lender can do this for you. We pull your credit along with obtaining your income information, job stability, cash to close, etc. and qualify you for the mortgage program that best suites you. We then send a letter of approval to your real estate agent. I would be happy to help you if you make contact.
Any lender can issue you a pre approval, but make sure they actually run your scenario through an automated underwriting system, preferably Fannie or Freddie to make sure you are truly pre approved and not pre qualified.
As indicated, contact your local lender.
Not only should you be run through an automated underwriting system, you should make sure that you are dealing with an experienced lender that will obtain and review all your documents, lay out and discuss pros and cons of various options, and in some cases, have an actual underwriter review certain items or scenarios. This will greatly reduce stress and potential issues down the road AND make your offer stronger and more likely to be accepted by a seller. I'm happy to help with the financing or just give you advice. If you need more information, or a competing rate quote call, email or use my live support button to discuss or get in touch with me.
