If you have received a letter or email communication that you have been approved for a loan, for which you have not applied, DO NOT ANSWER!! There are many unscrupulous individuals looking to get your vital information to compromise your credit and steal your money or property. There is also a scam where an individual says that they are from another country and asks you to deposit a check in your account for a large sum of money, splitting the amount of the check with you as your fee. *****SCAM ALERT!!!!******* As you are well aware, the bank will clear the check only for the check to be found to be fraudulent at a later date.
