How to qualify and get the best deal?

How can I find the best mortgage lender to buy my first home? I live in a competitive real estate market and I'm worried about being able to afford a house. I've heard that some lenders offer better rates than others, but I'm not sure where to start. Are there any specific qualities or criteria I should look for in a mortgage lender? For example, should I prioritize lenders who offer low interest rates, flexible repayment terms, or personalized customer service? Additionally, how can I ensure that I qualify for a mortgage and get the best deal possible? Are there any steps I can take to improve my credit score or financial profile before applying for a loan? by george porge from Dubuque, Iowa. May 8th 2023 Reply

My best advice is to reach out to a fully licensed, well qualified, and experienced Loan Officer like myself. Lenders, because of how the mortgages really work, all have very similar rates and costs, and the same basic programs. Generally chasing the guy quoting 'the lowest rate' actually is chasing the biggest liar. Also, the 'lowest rate', but on the wrong program is another potential problem. Finally, getting the correct answers to your questions always starts with a full and complete application to the lender, who will review your personal situation, then give advice specific to you. contact several lenders - asksame questions and get basic quotes - ask they send some scenarios to you to review ...compare the numbers and cust service you received and then get a pre approval started with one of these lenders ..they should be able to show you options and also help with reviewing the credit report too - good luck
