I am starting a farm and been looking into purchasing some rural property without a house, for farm use only. does VA have programs for new-farm loans?

For your scenario.. no.. it's not allowed.. VA does lend on farm's so long as there is a residence there and you will be living in the home as your primary residence. Also, you cannot buy a business using VA funds.. so if you find a farming business with a home on the property, and part of the purchase price is for the livestock, equipment or "Blue Sky".. then that's not allowed either.. VA does do construction loans.. so it's possible you can purchase the property and build your new home on the land.. but i'm not sure if this would be allowed along with the purchase of a farm.
