I have above 740 credit score but do not have 2 consecutive years of employment. Is there a chance of getting a home loan?

Consecutive employment is not necessarily a deal breaker.. if you are in same field of work, and no more than 90 day gap in employment, then with a good letter of explanation, you should be Ok.. Also, if you are a recent graduate, and your working in your field of study, then that would be considered "Same Field of Work", and would be acceptable.. The best advice I can give you is to contact a LOCAL mortgage broker, not the local "Big" bank, and certainly not one of those 50 states internet lenders...By applying with your LOCAL Broker, you have an advantage because he's familiar with local customs and works with numerous lenders, seeking out the best loan terms for your particular scenario. Because he has lower overhead, he can offer you lower rates and lower fees than most of the larger lenders.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

Obviously, your credit scores won't be an issue. Just because you do not have two consecutive years of employment does not automatically disqualify you. It depends on how long the break was, why the break was, is there similarity to what you used to do and what you are doing, etc. Also, your ratio's, reserves and other credit will play into the decision. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z team of NOVA Home Loans ~ NMLS 40586 ~ www.LoansA2z.com 888-889-9950

Depends on if you can explain to the underwriters satifaction the gap in employment. That alone probably will not disqualify you though so long as your other qualifiers are good like DTI, assets etc.

The work history can be overcome as long as you have good reason for the gap in work history. Or if you have similar work experience previously. As others have mentioned, you will have to qualify for the other requirements of the loan program. Good Luck!

As long as it makes sense, I would say yes. What was the reason for job gaps? Was it for more than 6 months?

The reason for the gaps was due to 2 pregnancies. I went to school for nursing, currently an RN.
