I have recently been pre-approved for a home loan.. So I found a house that I wanted, signed a contract with the seller and went straight to the bank! I paid for an appraisal and started packing.. I just found out that FHA denied the loan because I was self employed for four years doing medical transcriptioning and when the doctors went digital last summer it eliminated my job and forced me to seek other employment. Since I have only had one year of W2's since this happended with no lapse in employment they said I had to have two years of W2s. Is there any other options for me?? Please help me. PS I do not have a down payment.. only two thousand dollars in the bank.

I also believe something else is going on with your application besides the job history. Switching jobs from self-employed, limited gap in employment, and not having two-years of W2's in and of itself is NOT a deal killer. I suggest contacting a different lender (NOT a bank). Find a local NMLS licensed mortgage professional and let them give you a second opinion. If you were really "pre-approved", your loan should close. Bank loan officers are not required to be licensed, and it would appear you were given a bad pre-approval. Buying a home in MN or WI? Visit www.MortgagesUnlimited.biz
