We should talk/email. I also have a log home in WI and I understand the comp issues. We have lenders that will do this, but I need to know more information regarding the property. It is possible. I am in your area (Schaumburg). barb.lanis@1amllc.com 630-660-8868
If you have an appraisal, I'd be happy to review it. We are a Mortgage Banker, as well as direct with Fannie Mae and other larger banks/investors. JAlbrecht@PrimeLending.com
Because of the uniqueness of a log home, most lenders want at least two comps, at a minimum. You have a difficult challenge.
I would recomend going back to your current lender,
In my experience a local bank in the area of the property is a good choice, however in the current climate of conservative lending and banks' required liquidity levels they may not be able to help. It's worth asking a few besides your current lender. Good luck to you.
You will have a difficult time, but you obviously got a loan before and you will again. You just need to find the right lender. I'd start with the company who currently has your loan. Goof luck.
