absolutely, but understand that HARP loans are intended for borrowers who wish to refinance without an appraisal, usually because there isn't sufficient equity to do a standard refinance.. so even though you can do a reverse mortgage, you might not have sufficient equity.. .. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J. Sure... refinancing your home today under the HARP program will have no effect on getting a Reverse Mortgage in the future. In MN and WI, get a HARP refinance at www.HARP-Refinance-MN.com

The two are unrelated, so it would have no impact on your ability to get a reverse mortgage when/if you need/want one.

You may apply for a reverse mortgage at age 62, without regard to your existing mortgage, as long as you have sufficient equity, and meet the new minimum income requirements that go into effect in 2014.
