If you can get them to put it in writing, that it was their mistake. Take that letter and have you mortgage banker to do a "rapid re-score."You should also do the Analyzer and see if the troubled account would even benifit your FICO score. If you need help on how to accomplish this, let me know. My name is Rich and my email is rconstantine@myhsoa.com. Hope this helps! RC

If you do nothing & wait for the bank to process it, it will most likely take 30-60 days before it reflects on your report. Your refi lender should be able to do a rapid rescore on your report with written documentation from the bank that shows it was an error.

It really depends on a few factors. When your bank will actually report to the credit bureaus, keep in mind there are three bureaus. Lenders use the middle score, or the numbered score that is not the lower, or the higher of the three. Then it depends on the credit bureau on how long they take to make correction on the report. In the lending industry, we use a rapid rescore, which we have results within 3 days. It could take you 30 or 60 days on your own. Hope this helps.

It could take up to 30 to 60 days. No sooner or later than that. Good Luck.
