Installment Promissory Note

i have an original promissory note signed by me and was given to me from the owner of a car i purchased but my documents typed up by the notary was lost...can my promissaory note be the proof i can use in court that the car is mines...i only have a copy of the documents that are not stamp or sealed by the notary. by ttvjo11 from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Although your question is not relevant to this forum, which is geared to mortgage loan questions, the first thing I would do is go down to your state's Motor Vehicle Department and show them what you have and ask them what your options are. Because all notaries are required to keep a Notary Journal, He/She may be able to asist in confirming that documents were notarized. Good luck.
