I was widowed a year ago. Just started working 7 mos ago after 20 years. Can I refinance my home? by wetter679 from Ascutney, Vermont. Oct 5th 2020
Probably. As a general rule, lenders look for at least a two-year work history. However, if you can document a valid reason why you were not working until seven months ago (and I think you can), and your current job is stable, It is likely an underwriter will consider the reason for you not working previously and still grant an approval. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Licensed in Arizona, California, Georgia, Oregon, and Washington. Probably.... When you've had a gap that long, generally a valid reason for the gap, and at least 6 months on that new job, equals the odds are in your favor that you can qualify for a loan. I lend in MN WI IA ND SD, and can be found at JoeMetzler.com - NMLS 274132
