Loan for 580 FICO score

I heard that some banks have now lowered their FHA loan qualifications to 580? I have a score of 585 and make around 54,000 a year. What is the down payment percentage for a house with this score and the new loan requirements? Thanks for any answers!!! by from , . Jun 14th 2011 Reply

You do NOT need 10% down with a 580 score, you only need 3.5% down. FHA requirements are 10% for 500 - 579 and 3.5% for 580 and up. Please note however that credit score alone is not the only factor. The reasons for the low score may still disqualify you, such as recent foreclosure, bankruptcy or collections. If you would like to see if you qualify, please contact me and I will walk you through the process. Gregorio Denny - WeFixRates.Com

Generally you would need 10% down with that score. I dont lend below 640 fico, so your best bet would be to contact a few loan officers in your area to see if they have the looser FHA credit requirements. Good luck
