You're better off contacting a local mortgage broker and let him look at the project and guide you to the right financing options.. Typically Banks and credit unions have limited programs with lots of restrictions.. Brokers deal with multiple lenders, with each one offering a different set of rules and overlays. the more lenders, the more lending options, and the greater likelihood your loan will be approved.. Understand that condo's can be more difficult to finance than a single family home.. lenders are required to fill out a "Condo Questionnaire".. depending on the responses, it's possible your project does not qualify for any type of "conforming" financing.. and you will be stuck looking for "Portfolio" type financing.. rates and terms can be ugly, so be prepared..
