Mother passed away, now lender is foreclosing what can I do

My Mother owned a condo in West Palm Beach, Fl. She passed away in 2008 and left me the condo. I have been on the deed since before she passed but never on the mortgage. I paid the mortgage for one and a half years, but stopped several months ago because I could not afford the payment. What can I do to stop this?! by mary399 from West Palm Beach, Florida. If you cannot afford the payment, what is it you want stopped? You stopped making the payment and say you cannot afford it; not trying to be rude, but you certainly don't expect to live for free do you? If you can afford the property and can qualify for a mortgage, you can solve your problem, but if you cannot, there is nothing to discuss; you need to move.

Talk with the lender or their servicing company. You are on title and you can document you were making the payments. They may offer you a loan modification or some other alternative. The longer you wait to do this, the less chance you'll have keeping it. .... Happy funding, Rudi
