My broker is asking for information 1 year after closing

We closed on our mortgage in April, 2022. At the time my husband was paying child support that was disclosed and appeared on all his paystubs. Underwriting apparently missed this bit of information and now my broker can't sell my loan to Fannie Mae, He alluded they may call the mortgage. Can they do that, considering we gave al information at the time of underwriting and closing and it was underwiritng mistake? by BPfeu21 from Calabash, North Carolina. Mar 9th 2023 Reply

A lender can NOT call your mortgage due because they made a mistake in the loan approval process. If they approved and closed it, it's closed! Fraud on the other hand is something different. If the child support was right on the paystub, they should have caught that. On the other hand, all debt is supposed to be disclosed by the applicant. With that said, if you can, just supply the information they are asking for. It's no big deal. Without the information, you are probably OK, but they will suffer a loss on the loan.
