Generally speaking, a co-borrower MUST be eligible to be in the US, have a Permanent resident ID card (not just a VISA) and a SSN issued by the SSA. If they meet the above, but are not residing in the US, I don't think any lender will allow that person to be co-borrower. Most lenders will allow a US Citizens living/working abroad to be a co-borrower. ~ Bert Carpenter, The LoansA2z Team of NEXA Mortgage ~ NMLS 40586 ~ Licensed in Arizona, California, Georgia, Oregon, and Washington.
