You need to refinance from the FHA into VA which would be great as there is no Mortgage Insurance on a VA loan. Rates are also VERY LOW :) I'm a local mortgage company in Summit, NJ [please e-mail or call me if you would like to review your options and benefits of refinancing. You have to refinance your mortgage; the costs are about the same to refinance as to purchase so I usually suggest a slightly higher rate with a lot less in fees.

Refinancing from an FHA loan to a VA is easy... Assuming you have VA benefits, just apply with a local mortgage broker in your area... They will review your application, and see if you qualify. For VA loans in MN, WI, and SD, visit www.VA-IRRRL-Loan-mn.com

If he is the Veteran he must be on the mortgage. You can be a co-applicant.

As long as your husband is on the mortgage as the primary borrower you will be fine but you can't get a VA loan unless the veteran is on loan with you or you are a surviving spouse.

Yes, you can refinance in just his name, or you can both be on the new mortgage. Anyone on the mortgage must of course meet qualification requirements for credit, debt ratio's, etc. If by chance you are having trouble making the payments and the loan is delinquent, it may be more difficult. Good luck!

Assuming he qualifies, yes, you can refinance in just his name. There are special rules. If you can stay on the new loan, it is even easier.

VA loans are only available to Veterans with VA loan eligibility or to widows/widowers of a deceased Veteran with VA loan eligibility. If your husband has VA loan eligibility then a refinance of the existing loan, while adding your husband to the loan and the title will allow you to obtain a VA loan. Yes you can refinance from a FHA to VA Loan in your husband's name if he is a veteran and meet all the qualifications for a VA Loan.

You will need to refinance your current FHA mortgage into a VA mortgage. In order to do so, you will have to meet VA qualification requirements.
