I dont see a reason why it would be checked, TN is not a community property state. May the lenders underwriter is asking for it.

Unless you are on the application, or in a community property state, there is zero reason for your credit to have been checked. But, how could they have even checked your credit unless you gave them your information, including SSN and date of birth?

can't see any reason they would do that, ask, we don't at my company which is in 41 states including Tenn. It's possible it is their internal requirement.

If you were listed on the application form, it was assumed you were to be on the loan. The way to avoid this is to have your husband buy the home and apply for the loan, then add your name to the title after closing.

It shouldn't have been if you are not on the application.
