Out of state mortgage with a telecommuting job

I currently live and work in NJ. My job allows me to telecommute. I plan to buy a house in Arizona and move there (keeping my current job). Is it possible to get a FHA loan to buy a house in Arizona with a telecommute job in NJ ? by rickle_994_851 from Scottsdale, Arizona. Sep 30th 2011 Reply

YES, you would be able to obtain financing under that circumstance. You will be required to document and prove from your employer that this is acceptable and will not effect your employment. Other than that, no problem.

Buying a home with a telecommuting job is a non-issue so long as you have verifiable proof that this is allowed with your current employer. If you own your home in NJ, this may draw some red flags as to the disposition of your existing home and the actual need to as why you would be moving to AZ.
