Me and my husband are currently looking for a new home this upcoming autumn/winter. I wanted to get feedback on our chances in getting a home and any suggestions in general would help us a lot. We plan on getting a house in NY, preferably in the Westchester County area. The thing is, my husband’s credit is around 600, while mine is around 700. He has a law enforcement job which means his income is stable, and I have my own psychotherapy private practice for over 2-3 years. We managed to make $90k this year. How high is the chance of us getting approved? We spoke to a US Bank representative around summer last year to assess our situation and he told us we could get pre-approved for $500k, which was our budget back then. by mddallara935 from Bedford Hills, New York. 1) begin the pre approval process now so that you can have tri merge credit report pulled ( all 3 bureaus ) - this way you will know what all current scores are and also have soem ideas if any accounts can be worked on to make scores better 2) the credit impact what you can get for the new loan but your income will also be very important to have reviewed by a lender / loan officer especially if your want to try to use your income from your practice the pre approval process will address these steps and you can do this months before you plan on buying - good luck
