Although Puerto Rico is a territory of the United States, getting a loan here in the US for a property there will be quite troublesome... The advice is good... you should use a lender over there... I tried searching for a loan for a borrower who lives in Puerto Rico, and wanted to buy a home here to retire. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. 480-287-5714 WilliamAcres.com

I agree with William on this one. You will be better served by using a local bank in Puerto Rico. Thank you so much for posting your question. The fact that your buying a second home says that you have managed your finances well. If you find that the terms for your purchase in Puerto Rico are not as good as what you can get here. Such as rates or programs. It may make more sense to do a cash out refinance on your MA home and pay cash for your summer home. If that is something you would like to pursue please feel free to call at 603-5433700 ext 1. Not only am I licensed in MA but I am just over the boarder in NH and travel often to MA for family and business so I would happily come to you.All my best,Don LaPlume
