qualifying for a home equity line $30000
my husband is going back to school and we are looking into grant programs and state funding but it's clear we'll need to make up the difference. We have a $600000 loan out and at around 70% LTV. We're hoping to get a heloc for $30000 and doubt we'd need much more than that. my credit is 715 and his is 689 (this is according to credit karma). Typically, the best source for HELOC's will be the bank on the corner.. Most mortgage lenders deal with first position mortgages, with a hand full who will do 2nd's.. For a $30K loan, it's difficult to earn enough money to make doing the loan profitable, so most don't offer them.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona.
