County records should be able to identify how many units the property has.
A unit refers to the number of separate living areas in a building or on a property. An example is, an apartment complex with 4 separate living areas would be known as a 4 unit apartment. Units refer to individual residences.. single family home is a "one unit" property.. duplex is a "two unit property", tri-plex, 4-plex, etc..
