Who does VA construction loans?

VA construction loans are one of the most difficult loans to get and for that reason, I would be cautious if anyone is saying they can do one.. VA offers this option, but VA does not lend money, they only insure loans against default.. the lenders, or those with the $$$ will oftentimes have their own rules above what VA calls for.. it's these overlays that change from one lender to the next.. In essence, your asking the lender to front you the necessary funds, with no financial contribution from you, and hope that in 9 months to a year down the road, you still qualify for the loan. If you cannot find that one lender out there, then if you have your own funds available, you can go to your local bank, and apply for a construction loan, and once the property is complete, you can apply for a VA loan, and get your cash back at close..
