Hi Melinda,As soon as you have a signed purchase agreement or "binder" you can lock your interest rate. Till then you should submit a loan application to us at Westport Mortgage to get you financing "pre-Approved". Call me: Paul Lebowitz 203-221-8242Thanks, Paul
Hi Melinda,It's true you cannot lock a rate until you have a contract, but it is a good idea to get a preapproval now. Give me a call and ill walk you through the process or you can go online to www.gfedhomeloans.com and start the process there. 860-216-3557 x300Jeff Chervenak
Hi Melinda, You will need to purchase a home before you can lock in a rate. Then you can lock it in for up to 60 days and in some cases up to 75 days depending on the lender without having to pay any sort of an up front lock in fee. Please feel free to call me at 800-624-2427, I'm Dotty Owens with Northeast Financial and I would be more than happy to discuss rates, lock options and programs that would be available to you. I am also a Licensed Real Estate Agent and would love to work with you to help you find your dream home. Making a phone call to me will be worth your time. I hope to hear from you. Good Luck.
