does VA lend to family of military?
My dad was a naval officer, passed away 2011 and my mom still receives VA benefits. Wondering if VA mortgage available to children? Credit 732 and hoping to get home financed for nothing down by daniel.g974987247 from Byron, New York. Aug 22nd 2014

Unfortunately not to the spouse or Family. VA loans are only available to the Veteran and their spouse - not the family .....

Unfortunately, the only one that VA extends benefits to is the unmarried surviving spouse. Children are not eligible. There might be other programs out there that might help with the down payment, but you'll have to contact your local mortgage broker and see what's available. he should be up to date on all the latest down payment assistance programs.. That didn't look right and I cannot edit. The VA loans are ONLY available to the Veteran and their spouse - not to family.
