That's more than necessary seasoning since your bk. I would go to your nearest credit union or depository institution like Wells Fargo or Chase. Home equity loans are not a product you want to solicit through a broker.
Seems like good advice from Nick, start by calling whatever bank or credit union where you do your banking or aready have a mortgage.
I would think a local credit union or bank would offer you your best options. They will still look at your overall credit and income picture. Best wishes, Sean
No lender will care about a bankruptcy 8-years ago... You will be fine. So what lenders? My advice is stay away from large internet lenders, and stay away from banks. Contact a local mortgage broker in your area. In MN, WI, and SD - visit www.StPaul-Mortgage.net
Assuming you qualify in all other areas, you should have no problem. Most lenders require 7 years waiting period, so you should be ok.. I'm a Broker here in Scottsdale AZ and I only lend in Arizona. If you or someone you know is looking for financing options, feel free to contact me or pass along my information. William J.
