I think my realtor is giving me the run around. I'm trying to put a bid on a home and contacted her 5x this week. She insists that it's the lender's fault for the delay by not providing the preapproval letter but I was pre-approved 2 weeks ago. What gives? by retoh707 from Cleveland, New Mexico. Aug 17th 2020
The real estate market is very busy right now, but if you have a pre approval letter and are ready to make an offer just call another realtor. Most areas have multiple listings so any agent can sell any listed property. If it is listed With a realtor, you so need an agent. Sellers typically pay the commission so you may as well get A great realtor to help you. Your lender can give you a list of good realtors.
Clearly there is a disconnect between your lender and your Real Estate Agent. Reach out to your lender and confirm that have issued the Pre-Approval letter. Ask him/her to send a copy to you. That will eliminate the 'I can't get a copy' excuse. As to your Agent. If your agent is not responding to your calls, there are usually two possibilities. One, She is just too busy, which is not working in your favor, or Two, She isn't the customer service oriented Agent. Neither of these are working to your advantage, especially in today's HOT real estate market. You need, want and frankly, deserve an Agent that is exceptionally attentive to your needs. NOW. In some of my markets, holes are under contract within 24 hours of being listed, so dawdling on your agents part is working against your needs.I'd start looking for another agent to work with you. Make sure you let this agent know that you are firing your previous agent because she was not attentive and did not return calls. DO NOT, EVER use the agent that is listed on a For Sale sign. In most states the Listing Agent (the one selling the home, has a fiduciary relationship with the Seller. This means that they are obligated to work in the favor of the seller, and that means they are not working for you.
